Dr. Cynthia Lopez, DMV
Dr. Cynthia Lopez had a wonderful, memorable upbringing in South Holland, Illinois and moved away from the area in 1983. Her life's journey prepared her to be the veterinarian she is today. She worked as a receptionist at the Iowa State University Small Animal Clinic, as a veterinary assistant at a small animal hospital in Madison, Wisconsin and as an office manager at a small animal hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. Lopez is a proud 1998 graduate of Colorado State University Teaching Hospital.
In 1999, Dr. Lopez and her veterinarian husband started a veterinary hospital in Pueblo, Colorado. For health concerns, they sold that practice and moved to Las Vegas, NV in 2003. Dr. Lopez worked at Cheyenne West Animal Hospital for 15 years surrounded by a devoted, compassionate staff. During her time there, Dr. Lopez fostered relationships with her clients and patients, was trained in and performed abdominal ultrasounds and endoscopic/laparoscopic procedures. She also has significant experience in veterinary dentistry as she worked alongside an associate that is boarded in that specialty.
In fall 2018, Dr. Lopez made a major decision to move back to this region to be closer to family. She found her next home at Lowell Animal Hospital (LAH). Her decision to join the LAH team was based on their goal and desire to provide your pets with quality, affordable care surrounded by compassionate, friendly, intelligent doctors and staff.
Dr. Lopez is the proud mother of a graduate school bound daughter. She loves to spend her off time with family. Her “therapy” is to spend time sewing and long-arm quilting (which she hopes to master soon). They are a family of 5 dogs, 4 cats, and 6 horses. All of the dogs and cats are rescues with the exception of her golden retriever. She feels the same about her pets as you do about yours. They are family!
